                 CURRENT OUTCOMES FOR YOUNG ADULTS AFTER FOSTER CARE
• 25 percent will become homeless within four years of leaving the system
• 71 percent of girls will be pregnant by age 21
• 50 percent will be unemployed at age 24
• 1 in 4 will experience post-traumatic stress disorder, five times more likely than the general population
• Seven times more likely to develop drug addiction
• 75 percent of females and 33 percent of males will rely on government assistance
• Females are 10 times as likely and males are four times as likely to commit a crime
• 80 percent of the prison population once was in foster care
• An estimated 80 percent of sexually trafficked victims were in foster care
